A Comment to my Reddit post,
With some regret, of a somewhat solitary way:My experience as a lifelong solo practitioner has been that I put in the hours. I did the work. I built the neural wiring. But there have been holes in my practice, techniques I could have been using that wiring for that I just plain didn't know.So now, in middle age, I find that when I come across an advanced meditative technique or method for applying meditation to life, I can just do it once I understand what it is. All the neural infrastructure is there, just waiting for a new way to use it.While that's cool and all, I do wish I'd spent time with actual teachers along the way so I could have been using these things the entire journey instead of picking them all up like I'm shopping on Amazon.
My response:I was interested to hear the experience of others, as you have done. Thank you.I am just really drawn to simplicity,And it’s benefits… I find an abundance of instruction within it.
