Thank You

My routines being disrupted by cancer and its treatment, I've very slowly moved back toward little tasks feeling more normal. And a perception arises. Often, in interactions, "please" and "thank you" are appropriate. This insight, not to be forgotten, allows my smoother function. But much more than this, "please" and "thank you" are the most important and essential elements of the event. Simple interactions are a connection to others, once again. And I am pleased and need to be grateful.

Then there are the simple thoughts of what is to be done, when to do, and how to do it. These simple dynamics are magic! A situation unfolds, and thoughts arise appropriately. Here I'll do this, and there just do that -- and do it this way. The world moves, and things are done. Now this "magic" doesn't set you ahead of others, doesn't necessarily win any contest. Maybe overall you're not well off, mistakes are made. But within our human case, there's magic in there!
