One Time
Through the careful lace of beech leavesstretched on close set treesby the water’s edge, the sinking sun reflectedover the full length of the pond.First, a steady yellow white, slowly turned toward orange, then became an active flamewhose flicker seemed aboutto ignite more than the reachthat danced from the sun’s flame. The gradually deepening scenebegan to feel universal, representing many. But in the end further,no, this is just this one.
